2024 – The Arts in Richardson (Part 1)
Richardson Has a Cultural Arts Master Plan!
The Richardson Arts Commission makes annual grants to support special opportunities, situations that are not included in the ordinary budget process or regular programming of arts organizations. The grant requests are evaluated based on one or more of the priorities identified in the Cultural Arts Master Plan:
- Cultivate new generations of arts participants
- Apply Richardson’s focus on innovation to cultural arts
- Promote Richardson through citywide cultural arts offerings
- Focus on strength in numbers: cultural clusters and districts
- Plan an effective cultural tourism strategy
We owe our gratitude to city leaders for their foresight and planning. In 2024, The Richardson Arts Commission has supported 24 very diverse organizations from every aspect of the Arts world, including:
Accolade Community Theatre
Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra
Dallas Chinese Community Center
Friends of the Richardson Public Library
Repertory Company Theatre, Inc. (RCT)
Richardson Civic Art Society (RCAS)
Richardson Theatre Centre, Inc.
SciArt Exchange
Texins Jazz Band
Texas Winds Musical Outreach, Inc.
The bottom line for Richardson:
With City government support, these arts groups have proven to be an excellent investment for quality of life in Richardson.
We should all celebrate these successes.
