Richardson Receives Recognition for Transparency
Richardson recently received two Transparency Stars from the Texas Comptroller’s Office for meeting specific financial transparency goals, in the areas of Traditional Finances and Contracts and Procurement.
The Transparency Stars program was started in 2016 to recognize cities, counties and school districts making important strides to greater government transparency. Local government entities can apply for stars in the five areas Traditional Finances, Contracts and Procurement, Economic Development, Public Pensions and Debt Obligations. Richardson’s applications for stars in the remaining three areas are still under review.
Thank you to city staff and council for moving forward to improve transparency in all areas. We look forward to seeing 5-Star Platinum recognition in 2018.
