Richardson: A City Full of Fun, Festivities, and Family-Friendly Events!
If you’re looking for a city that knows how to keep its residents entertained all year long, look no further than Richardson, Texas! Thanks to the dedication of city leadership and the Parks & Recreation Department, the City of Richardson (CoR) offers an incredible variety of fun, family-friendly events that bring the community together while enhancing the local economy.
Must-Attend Signature Events
Richardson is home to some of the most exciting annual festivals and celebrations in North Texas, drawing locals and visitors alike. Best of all, most of these events are free for Richardson residents, except for the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival. Mark your calendars for these can’t-miss events:
- Cottonwood Arts Festival (May 3-4, 2025, at Cottonwood Park) – A showcase of fine art, live music, and hands-on activities for the whole family.
- Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival (May 16-18, 2025, at Galatyn Urban Park) – One of the biggest music and arts festivals in the region, featuring national and local artists, art exhibits, food, and entertainment. Ticket prices range from $25 – $100 per day, depending on the day and access level, with prices increasing as the festival approaches. - Richardson’s Family 4th Celebration (July 4, 2025, at Breckinridge Park) – A spectacular Independence Day celebration with fireworks, live entertainment, and plenty of patriotic fun!
- Huffhines Harvest Fest (October 18-19, 2025, at Huffhines Park) – A perfect way to celebrate fall with arts, crafts, seasonal treats, and family-friendly activities.
- Pawtoberfest (October 2025, at Huffhines Park) – A festival just for dog lovers, featuring pet-friendly activities, vendors, and, of course, adorable pups!
- Santa’s Village & The Richardson Christmas Parade – Get into the holiday spirit with Santa’s Village, a charming winter wonderland at Huffhines Park, and the Richardson Christmas Parade, a beloved tradition filled with festive floats and holiday cheer.
