January 2019 – Real Hero

The Richardson Real Heroes selection process is underway. The great list of volunteers who were nominated by Richardson residents and friends is being reviewed to select the best of the best. Thank you to all that submitted their Real Hero for consideration. The awards ceremony to honor the selected 2019 Richardson Real Heroes and the organizations which they serve will be held on April 11.

The Richardson Real Heroes program focuses on honoring those who provide exemplary service(s) to our community with little opportunity for recognition. These unsung heroes are the backbone of our Richardson community. To honor these important people, the Real Heroes Award was created in 2009 by the Richardson Coalition. Each year, nominations for Real Heroes, who represent the spirit of volunteerism within Richardson and Richardson ISD, are solicited and Real Heroes are selected. In order to make this another special year for this program, funds are needed. All costs associated with the Richardson Real Heroes program are covered by the Richardson Coalition with the support of individuals like you.

How can you help?

We would appreciate any support that you can provide to help cover the cost associated with the Richardson Real Heroes program.  The expenses include:

• Videoing of each Richardson Real Hero
• Awards presented
• Rental and other expenses for awards ceremony

There is no outside funding from the City or corporations. The volunteers on the selection committee are not paid. All funds come from individuals, like you.   

Your contribution of $25, $50 or $100 will greatly help, but support of any size is welcome and much appreciated.
