Envision Richardson Comprehensive Plan Approved by City Council
The Plan included extensive public input, surveys, open houses and public hearings. Updated every 10 years, the plan is designed to provide clear goals and policies for future development &redevelopment in Richardson for the next 20-25 years. To learn more CLICK HERE
Solid Waste Master Plan (SWMP) Findings
Nearly 5000 residents participated in a survey. Early recommendations include:
- Enhancing the BABIC program with staffing, fleet, community education, and collection timing.
- Enhancing commercial collection on routes, vehicles, education and personnel. Extra capacity gained could allow the City to provide multifamily & commercial recycling
Aquatics Master Plan
The Aquatics Master Plan findings include many neighborhood pools that need to be updated and improved with replastering, ADA upgrades, and increased shade.
- The Northeast Richardson/Breckinridge Park area lacks a nearby pool
- Many residents have requested an indoor pool for year-round use.

City Council’s Legislative Agenda
Council reviewed the proposed legislative agenda priorities which include:
- Maintain the ability for locally elected officials to address the needs of residents & stakeholders
- Oppose actions that limit municipalities’ home rule authority or impose unfunded mandates
Office of Emergency Management Launches Passport Program
Program helps families prepare for emergencies using activities, puzzles & games. Passports are available at the Richardson Public Library. Once completed, return to Emergency Operations Center at 611 E. Lookout Dr & receive a special challenge coin. To learn more CLICK HERE
